Guiding Principles

Vision

To be a leading provider of quality Christian education delivered by Christian staff, ensuring the gospel message is an integral part of all we do.

Mission

The mission of Hillcrest Christian College is to develop within each student the desire and ability to fulfil God’s will in their lives. This is achieved in partnership with parents and the wider community.

The human and practical resources available at the College, together with the unique environment, assist each student to develop their God given gifts and talents. Each student will be encouraged to develop Christian faith and character and to pursue excellence in all areas.

Philosophy

Hillcrest Christian College offers students an educational opportunity established on a Christian foundation. The basis of this foundation is God as Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.

As students prepare to take their place in Australian society, the College seeks to instill in them high standards of Biblical morality, an understanding of social justice and respect for others. The acquisition of knowledge, understanding and wisdom are desired spiritual and educational outcomes for each student.

Our curriculum recognises the Lordship of Christ and the Bible as the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures reveal God’s desire for everyone to be in a personal relationship with Him, developing their gifts and talents in service to Him as they grow in Christian character. This relationship is considered to be a model for all other relationships, as well as the basis for the building of self-esteem and a fulfilling way of life.

Values

Each of the schools, Junior, Middle and Senior, have developed their own sets of values that, although slightly different in emphasis, together uphold the character we want for both individuals and our College community.

“Don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.”  2 Peter 1: 5-6 (The Message)
