    Student Delivers Lamb!

    On Sunday, 12th August, three Agriculture students from Hillcrest Christian College were able to experience something that most people would be fortunate to experience.Three students were on their way to the Hillcrest Farm to feed the cows for their 'Cows Create Careers' project.     Hillcrest Student Represents Victoria

    A local 12 year old girl has realised the dream of representing her state and performing on ‘the big stage’!     Premier’s VCE Awards

    The annual Premier’s VCE Awards were presented on Thursday, 27th April at a ceremony at the Palladium at Crown. More than 1,100 guests attended the prestigious award ceremony, in which the top-performing VCE students from 2016 were recognised for their outstanding academic results.     The Hillcrest Christian College VEX Robotics Team is heading to the USA this Easter Holidays to represent Australia!   • Massive Fundraising Effort for Student with Leukaemia

    Congratulations to Flynn Collier of Year 7 for his brilliant performance of the Georg Bydlinski poem “Machen wir Frieden” at the State Finals of the German Poetry Competition on Saturday 20th August.  He won first prize for the state of Victoria.Judges from the German-speaking community commented on his outstanding pronunciation and expression.     On Wednesday, 3rd August the ELC students had a visit from a furry friend.     Hillcrest Christian College recently partnered with the City of Casey to hold its first ever Dad’s & Mentors Date Night.       The Hillcrest Christian College Mentoring program is now in full swing for 2016. During Term 1, fourteen Senior School students trained over four weeks to become Mentors for students in Middle School, particularly Years 7 and 8.     We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Crest Connect Name the Mascot Competition is Bonnie Baker (Year 12 Hillcrest student) with the name ‘Clyde’.   • Rivercrest Builder’s Achievement

    The company that is undertaking the construction of Rivercrest Christian College recently won the ‘Specialist Contractors Collaboration Award.’ (pictured)  The award was for a nomination the Builders (S&B Lamble Pty Ltd) received from subcontractors. It was based on a score card where they were rated out of 10 for things such as the tendering process, payments, security of payments, on site management, OH&S, time allocation for subcontractor works to be carried out and generally how they manage subcontractors.   This award was presented by the Master Builders Association at Crown Casino.

    This award is a great achievement for our builders and also something for our parents to be proud of.  It is comforting to  know the quality and care that will be taken in the Rivercrest project.  ...Continue Reading

  • Award Winning Business Manager

    Mr Greg Waterhouse, Building Development Manager of Rivercrest Christian College, was recently awarded (pictured) a trophy in recognition of his 30 years of service to Christian Education.  The award was presented at the Christian Schools Australia National Conference in August.

    Mr Waterhouse was in fact a founding father of Hillcrest Christian College and was personally ‘hands on’ in its development.  Mr Waterhouse was the first Board Chairman of Hillcrest some 30 years ago.

    Mr Waterhouse has worked in eight different schools and has been at Hillcrest for seven years, working side by side with Dr Daniel Pampuch in developing Hillcrest and Rivercrest Christian College.

    We applaud Mr Waterhouse in this achievement and acknowledge his tireless efforts to literally lay the foundations for generations of learners to come!  ...Continue Reading

    Dairy farmers never die and they don’t even go out to pasture.  Fortunately for the students of Hillcrest Christian College in Clyde North, ex-dairy farmer Gerry Cunningham, has turned his talents to bush poetry.  Cunningham, from Tynong North, visited the school recently surprising students during lunch with stories of drovers and bullockies.     This July Holidays will be a little different for 10 Year 10 students from Hillcrest Christian College.  It has been months in the planning and in July, these Hillcrest students will venture to Cambodia for a life changing experience.  The Hillcrest students and two intrepid staff members, will partner with the organisation YWAM (Youth With a Mission).     Maxwell Bracher, School Captain and Year 12 student at Hillcrest Christian College, undertook Visual Communication and Design Units 3 and 4 in 2011. A dedicated student, he chose to design a logo, flags and a coffee table book for his Unit 4 folio.     In February 2011, Hillcrest Christian College Year 12 students heard about a young family whose first born baby, Ben, had been diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The condition occurs when parts of the left side of the heart do not develop completely. These results are a credit to the hard work and dedication of, not just the Year 12 teachers, but also of the entire College staff.
